AFFCAD Expands Reach to Support Jinja Youth

We are excited to announce that AFFCAD is scaling up its operations to Jinja City, where our Accelerating Youth Employability through Vocational Skills Training (AYEV) project will be implemented.

In August 2025, our team met with key city officials, including the Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Community Development Officer (CDO), and Town Clerk, to introduce the project and secure approval to operate in Jinja South and North divisions.

The project will train 150 young people over two years in Tailoring, Hairdressing, Electrical Installation, and Bakery, equipping them with skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

With approval granted, we will soon hold an inception meeting with local stakeholders to introduce the project more widely, build partnerships, and mobilize support. We look forward to empowering Jinja youth, helping them gain skills, create livelihoods, and strengthen their communities.

We can not wait to work with young people in Jinja.
