In a move to combat HIV stigma and enhance education among young people, Action for Fundamental Change and Development (AFFCAD) has launched the transformative “Empower Communities Against HIV Stigma” project. This groundbreaking initiative aims to reach 13,750 youth in Kampala district, one of Uganda’s most vulnerable regions affected by the HIV epidemic.
Addressing a Critical Need
HIV continues to disproportionately affect young people, often accompanied by stigma that hinders open discussions and access to education and resources. AFFCAD recognizes this pressing issue and is dedicated to fostering a more informed and supportive community environment. The core objective of this project is to improve HIV education and reduce stigma, creating a safer space for young individuals to engage with crucial health topics.
Community-Led Baseline Research
One of the key activities of the “Empower Communities Against HIV Stigma” project is the implementation of community-led baseline research.
